The typical University of Phoenix students are middle aged working parents. The university is great for busy people, people that work full time and great for parents that cannot attend a traditional college.

I would say that a typical University of Phoenix-Online Campus student is very busy. Attending an online college can give you the freedom to address the other responsibilities in your life. Online college can also expand on opportunities for those who are looking to achieve a higher education in order to enhance there career. The type of person who should attend the University of Phoenix-Online Campus is a person who wants to not only focus on there education but also focus on other important areas of life, such as work and family. For me personally family is incredibly important, and the University of Phoenix-Online Campus gives me the chance to focus on both family and schooling.

I don’t think there is a “typical” student. We all come from different walks of life. I have noticed in my classes that their are a lot of parents and people above the age of 25 with full time jobs and/or children to raise as well. In my last class, there was a young female about 19 but she also worked full time and had a child. Something that wouldn’t generally work if you were going to a traditional college setting.

The typical student is very determined and self-motivated. Any person willing to take on the challenge of working responsibly without going to class everyday should apply! Students who are very confident in the ability to work without supervision and at their own pace should consider an online program.

The typical University of Phoenix online student is very focused. Due to the fact that the person is not in a classroom setting, they are very aware of what is expected of them and they are considerate if their teammate’s time zone. Each student works together within a team to make sure that assignments are correct and turned in on time.

A University of Phoenix-online campus student is one that has a full lifestyle but also wants to get an education. Normally the student is a full time employee somewhere, has a family, and many other obligations. It requires as much time as a full time job and is just as stressful. Those that can keep up with the fast pace have a chance to becoming something great but they must work their butts off to be that. Many of these students do there work late at night or early in the morning because it is the only time that works for them.

A person that should attend would probably be motivated way more then a normal college student. You have to make time for studying and being alone to process what you are learning. You also should remember that your family needs you so don’t shelter yourself to much because time goes by so fast.

I am attending the University of Phoenix online for the purpose of furthering my education in the field of Human Resources, which I currently hold a job position in with a young and growing Research and Development company. I plan to sit for the CP (Human Resources Certified Professional) Exam upon completion of the certificate course that I am taking through Phoenix. Phoenix Online works exceptionally well for me whereas, given my unique situation, many other universities have not been ideal. I work full-time, and am the head of the Human Resources department. I believe that the majority of University of Phoenix-Online students are, like me, full time employees with growing companies, in need of a University that offers excellent online classes, efficient assistance when needed and Certificate Programs.

A typical university of phoenix- online campus student is like any on-campus student…with the exception of pros and cons as well. Pros- its convenient as you are able to pursue higher education from the comfort of your own home. It is perfect for stay-at-home moms or those who has a typical work schedule. You can study at your own pace. Cons- You do not have the luxury of classroom environment, lecture note-taking, or hands-on lab (for chemistry or biology)

Most individuals who attend the University of Phoenix-Online Campus are those who balance multiple tasks daily such as jobs, academics, children, volunteering, and other family obligations. Since many Online Campus individuals balance a busy schedule these individuals should be self-motivated because in order to keep a good academic standing and finish coursework in a timely manner routine and discipline is a must. These individuals also need to be able to work independently because there is a lack of constant supervision from a professor. Organization is an important quality for online students because everything is done electronically and without the proper tools such as a computer, internet access, books, and the Universities specific requirements students can become over whelmed and this good lead to bad academic standing or an individual dropping-out.

This school is for people who do not have the ability to make it to a campus class all the time. They could live too far or not have the time. Whatever the reason this school is for them. Also it helps to be proficient in technology and have the motivation because you won’t have someone telling you it needs to be done. You must be able to handle the amount of responsibility and work involved with online classes.

To answer this question of what a “typical” University of Phoenix- Online Campus student is like, there would first have to be a “typical” student. University of Phoenix Online is a school that encompasses all kinds of students: busy adults in the work force; freshly graduated high school students; people in their fifties and sixties who are too afraid to attend a real campus; parents who do not think it is possible to attend a real campus and still care for their child(ren). The only thing that each of these students will have in common if they wish to succeed is their drive and desire to learn.

University of Phoenix is an online classroom with online communication; it is a school that only becomes important to the student if the student wants it to. It is extremely easy to shy away from the course work, or get too caught up in life, and completely forget if participation was logged for the day or if that assignment due yesterday was turned in. To be a successful graduate of University of Phoenix, the student must be organized, skilled in time management, and have a desire to learn as well as actually finish the course- for it is much too easy for a student to decide to quit. A “typical” University of Phoenix student will tell you that the classes were not easy, but the goal of finishing their degree was worth all the hard work.

A typical person is dedicated and isn’t afraid of a little hard work. Someone whom believes in success no matter what and has the most optimistic view points. A person that learns from their mistakes and takes them as lessons because that is how you are suppose to approach life, learning mistakes, no lessons.

This will be my first year ever attending University of Phoenix-Online Campus. I do not start until the last part of next month. As with any college student, the students at University of Phoenix-Online Campus are seeking a great education to better their lives for their futures. To attend the online campus like myself, one should first evaluate the situation they are in. For instance, I live in such a small town where there is literally no major chain stores, let alone a college or well-known university where I could achieve my degree, so choosing to go online was my only option. Secondly one needs to take in consideration, the needs of their loved ones as well. For an example, I have a two year old who requires a-lot of time during the day when one may be attending an on-campus class. The flexibility of being able to work on my school work at my own time is what I love.
