What is your dream career? Think of your favorite subjects in school – history, art or agriculture; or the hobby you devote hours to – photography, coding or volunteering. If you knew your dream job was within reach, what would stop you from pursuing it? Education, time and money? You might be surprised to know that an associate degree can pave the path to your dream career, while working around those obstacles.

Associate degrees fit into any schedule. A full-time student (15 credits per semester) will typically complete their associate degree in only two years. Part-time students complete their degree on a flexible schedule, often balancing courses and work. Kishwaukee College eases scheduling barriers by offering dozens of online classes as well as summer courses. This provides students the opportunity to complete their associate degree at their own pace.

Associate degrees are affordable. Students who live in-district pay only $142 per credit hour at Kish, while students attending a public four-year institution pay, on average, $325 per credit hour. Scholarships can lessen the financial stress of paying for college, as well. The Kishwaukee College Foundation gave more than $250,000 in scholarships during the 2017-2018 school year and has helped countless students reach their collegiate goals over the years.

Pave the path to a Bachelor’s Degree. Complete your first two years of a bachelor’s degree at Kish. In a college tuition cost comparison, based on average tuition and fee costs (15 credit hour per semester), Kish saves students $9,115 over Illinois public universities and $28,717 over Illinois private universities per semester.* Furthermore, Kish offers a smooth and successful transition to a four-year institution. Through our transfer agreements with several institutions, we make sure that your class credits transfer to your future bachelor’s degree, ensuring time at Kish is time well spent.

It pays to complete your degree. On average, students who complete an associate degree earn more than $6,600 more per year than a high school graduate.** Additionally, completing a degree is proven to increase your employability. The unemployment rate for those who have completed an associate degree is 3.6 percent, while the rate for those who have completed high school is 5.2 percent.**

Earning an associate degree proves that you’ve gained valuable experience and mastered subjects that will help you succeed in your career path. Because of this, you’ll be more employable and earn a greater salary than those without a degree. Earning your associate degree gives you a head start on a bright, fulfilling future, and it can fit into your current schedule and budget. Take the steps today to register for classes and begin your journey into the career of your dreams – it’s only an associate degree away.

Registration for the fall 2018 semester at Kishwaukee College is open. Visit www.kish.edu for more information.
